Metodology
Used

To fully understand the process and operators' needs, we adopted the agile Double Diamond methodology. This allowed us a structured approach in four stages:

Discovery

Definition

Development

Delivery

We conducted 2 semi-structured interviews and 1 technical visit during the Discovery phase to gain valuable insights into the factory environment and operations related to billet production and inspection.

Ideation & Prototyping

Based on the information gathered during the Discovery phase, we used collaborative methods like

Brainwriting 635 and C-Box to generate innovative

ideas and concepts.

These techniques enabled a creative exploration of solutions for identified challenges.

Integrated Prototype with Advanced Imaging:

Developed a prototype that seamlessly integrates high-resolution digital camera technology with an automated analysis system for enhanced imaging capabilities.

Efficient Data Handling and Analysis:

Implemented streamlined processes for loading images and relevant information of billets, enabling efficient data handling and analysis.

Automated Defect Detection and Image Management:

Enabled automated detection and analysis of surface defects, with images stored in a database for future analysis and classification.
