Context:

PlurieBR is a SaaS platform dedicated to developing underrepresented talent and helping organizations foster inclusive cultures. When I joined the project, the platform faced challenges in delivering clear, actionable insights from its DEI&P data. Users struggled with cluttered dashboards, confusing navigation, and an interface that did not fully convey trust or professionalism. My goal as a UX/UI Designer was to transform the platform into an intuitive, data-driven experience that empowered users to make informed decisions while aligning design with business objectives. The project was structured in two phases: an immediate tactical redesign to stabilize usability issues, followed by a research-driven strategic overhaul.

Problem:

Despite having robust data and resources, the platform’s complexity prevented users from extracting meaningful insights. HR managers, tasked with advancing DEI&P initiatives, found it difficult to track progress and identify trends. Individual learners seeking professional growth faced a fragmented experience with little guidance or personalization. The interface failed to communicate clarity, accessibility, and trust, resulting in low engagement, higher churn, and limited impact on organizational inclusion strategies. The challenge was to redesign the experience to be both user-centered and strategically aligned with business goals.

Phase 1: Rapid UX/UI Redesign

In the first phase, I focused on delivering immediate improvements to stabilize the user experience. I conducted a UI audit using Nielsen’s heuristics, identifying critical usability issues, and implemented visual updates to modernize the interface. I reorganized information hierarchy, simplified navigation, and improved feedback mechanisms to enhance clarity and reduce cognitive load. This rapid intervention allowed users to regain confidence in the platform and established a foundation for deeper, research-driven design.

Phase 2: Research-Driven Strategic Overhaul

The second phase focused on discovery and strategic UX. I conducted in-depth user interviews and tested workflows with both HR managers and individual learners, uncovering pain points, motivations, and unmet needs. Based on these insights, I created personas and journey maps to guide design decisions, ensuring the solution was tightly aligned with user goals. I developed mid- and high-fidelity prototypes, iteratively tested through usability sessions, and refined flows to prioritize simplicity, autonomy, and personalization. This phase emphasized information architecture, interaction design, accessibility, and visual design, ensuring that every touchpoint delivered value to the user.

Solution:

The final redesign transformed the platform into a coherent, data-driven experience. Dashboards were redesigned to visualize complex DEI&P metrics clearly, using color, typography, and layout to guide attention. Interactive filters and drill-downs allowed users to explore data at multiple levels, while accessibility improvements ensured inclusivity for all users. The interface achieved a balance between visual design, usability, and functional clarity, allowing users to take meaningful action from insights while reinforcing the brand’s credibility.

Impact:

The redesign significantly improved engagement and satisfaction. Users reported increased confidence in interpreting DEI&P metrics, navigation became more intuitive, and organizations were able to act on insights faster. The platform’s improved usability and user-centered design contributed to measurable business outcomes, including reduced churn and stronger adoption of DEI&P initiatives. Stakeholders were able to monitor progress effectively, driving real-world impact.

Key Takeaways:

This project reinforced that designing for complex, data-heavy applications requires a combination of strategic UX, high-fidelity prototyping, usability testing, and stakeholder alignment. Iterative, user-centered design ensures that solutions are not only visually appealing but also actionable and accessible. Through this work, I strengthened my ability to deliver intuitive, impactful experiences in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, demonstrating the value of UX strategy, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and data visualization in driving both user and business success.
